re-THINKing dEMENTIA...

The Postcard Project

Many people think there is no treatment for types of dementia. However, while there may not be a cure yet, there most certainly is treatment. The goal of this project is to create a public awareness campaign that identifies people living with dementia talking about “treatment”. What is good "treatment"? How can they continue to live well? How do people living with dementia want to be treated?

Working with people living with dementia and care partners, we asked them to create a poster that completed the statement, either: "My treatment is..." (and they filled it in about their quality of life) or a poster that said: "I want to be treated like..."

Here are the people and the posters. Please click on the picture to read the caption.
