Dr. Pauline Sameshima, Canada Research Chair in Arts Integrated Studies, Lakehead University
Pauline Sameshima is an Associate Professor, Canada Research Chair in Arts Integrated Studies, and Associate Director of the Centre for Place and Sustainability Studies at Lakehead University. She teaches in Graduate Studies and Research in Education. Her work investigates the possibilities for arts in research, within interdisciplinary frameworks, and as educational tools that support inquiry. Sameshima's work explores arts integrated research as a way to catalyze creative innovation, share research, and promote the capacity of interdisciplinary multimodal studies. Sameshima infuses her interdisciplinary collaborations with the arts which have the potential to bring together diverse groups and disciplines to find innovative ways to view, analyze, represent and disseminate research. Examples of the use of arts in research include the use of stories, plays, documentaries, paintings, poetry and other modes to increase understanding. Lisa Loiselle, MA
Lisa Loiselle is the former Associate Director of Research for MAREP, the Murray Alzheimer Research and Education Program, a major division of the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging at the University of Waterloo. Her educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Brock University and a Masters degree in Community Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University, Since 1999, she has been conducting research which focuses on the social critical aspects of Alzheimer Disease and related dementias, with the goal of translating the research results into practical, accessible way in which to educate persons with dementia, partners in care and professionals working in the field of dementia care. |
